The 2017 Summer Course Program on Green Technology for Sustainable Tropical Agriculture will be held to understand regional sustainability by means of multifaceted research and technology of sustainable tropical agriculture. The program is arranged to promote talents to find problem and discuss solution independently concerning this science field. in addition, the program is arranged to improve the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to work in a team that is multi-disciplinary and lifelong learning including access to information related to current issues. For attaining this purpose, this summer course involves plenary lectures, field sustainable tropical agriculture on technology and agricultural engineering perspective 

 

PROGRAM

 

Field Works - The Fieldwork activities at oil palm plantation and palm oil mill at PTPN 8, Kampung wisata Cinangneng, and Indonesian Industrial and Beverage Crops Research Institute would be conducted for discussing about sustainable tropical agriculture, using field equipment to find out some insights for regional sustainability. In addition, field practice in small medium enterprise would be conducted to produce artificial rice and specialty coffee

 

Group Discussion

 

Group discussion would be focused for raising the issues related to the agricultural technology practices in relation with tropical agriculture sustainability and formulate the solutions for respective issue raised. The issues may be cover specific or general aspects such as: Technological implementation, Research and Development, Organization and Management, Financial, Government policy aspect, Human resources, etc.

 

Participants

 

Undergraduate Student from universities in Japan and ASEAN included Indonesia (Bogor Agricultural University (IPB)).

 

Cost

 

Program cost and local expenses (Accommodation, transportation from airport to IPB Campus, and meal) would be cover by Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). International airfare will be shouldered by the students.

 

Abstract Submission

 

All students participate this summer course are encouraged to have study project would like to pursue and the reason their want to study its topic. Abstracts should be prepared following the proper template instructions, and should be submitted to clsuiao@clsu.edu.ph
