College of Fisheries

The college is the only one in the Central Luzon (Region III) that offers a BS Fisheries curriculum. On June 1987, the college started offering the Bachelor of Science in Fisheries with major in inland fisheries and minor in marine fisheries. Later on May 19, 2006, this was revised and approved through BOR Resolution 29-2006. In 2001, the College of Fisheries (CF) was recognized as a Center of Excellence in Fisheries by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). This recognition could be attributed to the sterling performance of the college as one of the top two fisheries institutions in the country. In fact, due to the research works on sustainable aquaculture of the the college with its research arm, the Freshwater Aquaculture Center (FAC), CLSU was awarded the Best Higher Education Institution (Research Category) in the country in 2008 by CHED. In 2009, the college was recognized by again by CHED as the only Center of Excellence in Fisheries in the country at the time. In addition, it was also recognized as National University in Fisheries by CHED.
